Enchanted Yukon and its fall colors awaits! I will be putting together a small group of maximum of 8 travelers and we would be traveling at the end of August 2025. We will discover well known places like Whitehorse, Dawson, Haines Junction, Tombstone Park, Denali Park, a portion of the Dempster Highway to Eagle Plains. We will get some hiking and water activities together to really appreciate the natural beauty of their parks. We also hope to be awed by the Northern lights and some local wildlife.
Departure on August 14, 2025, for 12 days.
Depart 14 aout 2025 pour 12 jours
You land in Whitehorse, it’s the start of your adventure!
Today, we embark on a 500-kilometer journey along the Klondike and Dempster Highways. These routes offer a glimpse of the classic Yukon scenery. On the way, we stop at the historic Five Finger Rapids on the Yukon River, a challenge faced by gold prospectors on their way to Dawson City in 1898. Once we get to Dawson you can start exploring the city, which still has its western vibe.
Every night during your adventure, keep an eye out for the northern lights as you might get lucky and catch a show!

In the evening, feel free to try your luck at the oldest gambling hall in Canada, Diamond Tooth Gerties where you can also enjoy a cancan show!

We leave Dawson this morning. After a one-hour drive, we’ll find ourselves within the beautiful Tombstone Territorial Park, surrounded by the untamed beauty of the wilderness. We will visit the Tombstone Interpretive Center to uncover the park’s history, its rich First Nations culture, and the diverse flora and fauna that inhabit this remarkable place. It’s an opportunity to explore and appreciate the Yukon’s unique heritage and natural wonders.
We’ll keep on driving on the Dempster highway, enjoying the beautiful fall colors all around us. As we proceed northward, we’ll ascend several mountain passes, then descend to cross the Ogilvie River. On the other side, a spectacular vista of the Ogilvie Mountains to the south awaits us. Along the ridge, the road meanders through the boreal forest, eventually leading us to Eagle Plains.
Throughout the day we stop along the road to admire and take photos of the beauty of the north. It’s a photograph’s paradise!

From Eagle Plains, we continue northward for another 40km until we reach the Arctic Circle. The Dempster Highway is Canada's northernmost highway, the sole one to traverse the Arctic Circle. We proceed a bit farther, ascending the western slopes of the Richardson Mountains to reach the border between the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Here, we truly appreciate the expanse and beauty of the arctic tundra! Once more, we spend the night at Eagle Plains.
